February 18 - April 2

  • On Wednesday, February 18, we offer two opportunities to observe Ash Wednesday:

    12:05 p.m. - Service of Hymns, Prayers and Ashes

    6:00-7:00 p.m. - Drop-By Prayers and Ashes

  • On Wednesdays during Lent from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., the local downtown churches will meet for worship, food, and fellowship. Lunches are free and no RSVP is required.

    March 4: Centenary UMC, 140 E. Market St.

    March 11: First Presbyterian Church, 215 S. 3rd St.

    March 18: First Baptist Church, 202 S. 4th St.

    March 25: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 218 S. 2nd St.

  • From February 22 to March 22, our Sunday sermon series will explore the question: why did Jesus have to die? We will be in conversation with the 2025 book of that name by Rev. Adam Hamilton.

  • On Sunday, March 22 from 4:00-6:00 p.m., all are invited to experience the Gospel story like never before.

Holy Week 2026
March 29 - April 5

  • On Sunday, March 29, we will celebrate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem with a joyous worship service and waving palms.

    Palm Sunday worship at Centenary will take place at 8:45 a.m. and 10:55 a.m.

  • On Sunday, March 29 at 3:00 p.m., we will turn our parking lot into a party for our Spring Festival! Families of all ages are welcome to attend. We will have inflatables and an Easter egg hunt. Admission and parking are free.

  • On Thursday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m., we celebrate the Last Supper, when Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and gave the first Communion.

  • On Sunday, April 5 at 6:45 a.m., we will gather at the Riverside Cemetery on Church Street for an Easter sunrise service.

    This ecumenical service will bring multiple Smithfield churches together to greet Easter morning.

  • On Sunday, April 5, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

    Worship with us at 8:45 a.m. or 10:55 a.m. Childcare will be available all morning.
